Demeke Yemareshet
I am an economist with a PhD in Development Economics from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Japan, and I am on the 2025/26 job market.
My research focuses on political instability, conflict, health, and human capital outcomes in developing countries. I am currently working on a project titled “The Impact of the Tigray War on Child Education and Labor in Ethiopia,” examining how conflict affects schooling decisions and child labour.
Previously, I worked as a lecturer at Debre Berhan University in Ethiopia, where I taught undergraduate courses and advised students on research projects.
