Demeke Yemareshet

I am an economist with a PhD in Development Economics from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), currently on the 2025/26 job market.

My research focuses on development economics, with particular emphasis on conflict, labour, education, health, and human capital in developing countries. I examine how conflict and political instability affect education, labour outcomes, health, and household welfare using micro-level data and causal methods.
